Lanora May Gibson
January 26, 1949 – May 14, 2019
Ms. Lanora May Gibson, age 70, of Oneonta, New York, passed on May 14, 2019 in Omaha, Nebraska, following a long battle with Dementia and Alzheimer’s. Lanora was born on January 26, 1949 in Oneonta, New York, the daughter of Clarence and Ethel May. She grew up in Oneonta with her sister, Debbie May, and raising her younger brothers after the untimely passing of their beloved mother, Ethel May. After graduating from Oneonta Senior High School in 1967, Lanora traveled the country serving as the military spouse of a Naval aviator and raising her five children. In 1989, she relocated to Nebraska. She spent the final years of her life in the loving care of her daughter, Erin and son-in-law, Rich, and granddaughters, Narcisa and Solana. Lanora was an avid lover of music, the Nebraska Huskers, and the Washington Redskins.
Lanora is survived by her children: Erika Gibson-Bertram of Falls, PA, Erin Gibson Martines and her husband Rich of Ralston, NE, Colonel Eries Mentzer and her husband Eddy of Alexandria, VA, John Gibson and his wife Jessica of Mesa, AZ, and Jarian Gibson and his wife Patty of Merriam, KS; her ten grandchildren: Narcisa, Hunter, Solana, Phoenix, Merick, Osiris, Jaxson, Lena, Violet, and Xavier; aunt, Jeanette Dewitt of Delhi, NY; her uncle, Charles Cox of Denver, CO; and her brothers, Bruce May of San Antonio, TX, and Mark May of Mesa, AZ.
MEMORIAL SERVICE: Saturday, May 18th at 3pm at the West Center Chapel. Interment: Plains Cemetery in Oneonta, NY.

Nora was a big part of our family. I remember many times she spent with our family. Mom and Dad considered her a daughter. I’m so sorry for all of you for your loss. Beautiful Lenora, I was so sad to hear of your passing. Know you’ve left behind your legacy in your kids and grandchildren. Instilling in them your kind and generous heart and surely your quick wit. Rest in paradise where pain and suffering no longer exist.

My heart is broken over the passing of your mama. I have so many wonderful memories of hanging out at your house in CA when we were kids.
