Larry E. Fanning
September 20, 1965 – July 21, 2023
Larry, 57, passed away peacefully at home on July 21, 2023 surrounded by his beautiful family and many loving friends. He lost the battle with Interstitial Lung Disease caused by Systemic Scleroderma. He fought hard up to the end battling this nasty disease.
Larry was born in South Omaha on September 20, 1965. He IS the original SOB!
Larry was a strong, kind, loving, and supportive husband and father. His knowledge and guidance was the foundation of his family.
He leaves a huge hole in the hearts of his family and friends. Larry could light up a room with his infectious smile and laugh. He was always entertaining people with his horrible dad jokes and long (sometimes true) stories about Bigfoot and UFOs. Some of his true passions were: Miller Lite, Jim Beam Vanilla, Trump, and making fun of JB (not necessarily in that order). He truly brought the life to the party with his witty sense of humor. No matter the circumstance, you would always leave with a story of something funny or crazy that Larry did. We will cherish the memories that were made.
Most importantly, Larry had the biggest heart and would help anyone at anytime, no questions asked.
Preceded in death by parents, Lowell Eldon and Gloria Fanning; mother, Patricia West; loving dog, Ally Roo Roo.
Survived by the love of his life of 35 years, Diane (Dummy); sons Larry Jr (Larbear) and Michael (Shooby); daughter Makayla (MaterMi); spoiled dogs, Molly and Lugnut; 10 siblings; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Memorial Service: Tuesday, August 8th, 10AM at West Center Chapel.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
