Larry Luther Hald, MD, beloved husband, father, and friend passed peacefully with family at his side on May 30, 2021. He was born on March 31, 1942 to Edmund and Evangeline (Luther) Hald in Grand Island, Nebraska. He graduated from Central City High School in 1960 and participated in band, vocal music, student council, class officer, and football. Larry attended medical school at the University of Nebraska graduating in 1970. His residency was completed at Methodist Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska in 1971. During this time, Dr. Hald served honorably in the Air Force Reserves and the Army Reserves. He was a board-certified Anesthesiologist and practiced in the Omaha community for over 50 years. As an anesthesiologist, the part of his career that brought him the most fulfillment was helping expectant mothers with pain management and visiting the new babies of his patients.
When not with his family, you could find Dr. Hald either in his garage working on classic cars or in his garden. As an avid car collector, Larry’s collection included a range of models and he took pride in doing much of the restoration work himself. Some of the vehicles he enjoyed most included his 1962 Oldsmobile Starfire, 1972 Cutlass 442 convertible, 1959 Cadillac El Dorado convertible, and 1976 Jaguar XKE convertible. Larry took great pride in his lawn, landscaping, and produce garden. He had a particular love of roses, having approximately 40 rose bushes around his home. At one point, the Hald vegetable garden spanned 250 feet with 8 rows. Keeping busy was always important to him.
Other personal interests for Larry included wildlife management and conservation of natural resources. He contributed frequently to the Audubon Society, Ducks Unlimited, Pheasants Forever, and Nebraska Public Television.
Larry was a long-time member of St. Paul de Vincent Catholic Church in Omaha and served in the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by his wife, Cindy Hald; children Erin Froistad (Barry), Colin (Brooke), Megan, Lawson, and Maleck; sister, JoAnn Hruban; four grandchildren: Logan, Sidney, Samantha, Charlotte. Preceded in death by parents; wife, Karen Hald; brother, Keith Hald.
Donations in lieu of flowers please.

I will always remember how devoted he was to his children.
So involved in everything that was happening with them at Montessori.
A really good dad. ❤️
On a personal note. I will always remember how kind and welcoming your entire family was towards me. Inviting me to your house to celebrate the holidays or just a fun day on the lake. Or attending a first communion. Very special memories. Thank you so much for your kindness. Miss Desiree.
