Larry Terkelsen of Omaha, Nebraska, died on Monday, August 30, 2021, at age 62. Larry was born on September 2, 1958, in Omaha, Nebraska. He was a devoted husband, son and brother. He was a fourth generation Nebraskan with ancestors buried at Omaha’s pioneer cemetery, Prospect Hill. He graduated from Northwest High School in 1976, and after the Vickers plant closed in 2001, Larry went back to college to complete his degree. He graduated from Bellevue University with a degree in computer science, summa cum laude. He had the mind of a systems analyst, forever fascinated by all the parts that work together to make up the whole. At Marriott, he finally landed his dream job as a search engine analyst for Marriott.com.

He was handy around the house; he kept the yard immaculate, and he was meticulous about his mowing. One should never mow the same way two times in a row. Larry mowed the yard vertically, then horizontally, and then diagonally and it always looked great. Larry made sure his vehicles were always washed, waxed and vacuumed out. Larry was the favorite toy of every dog he ever had, from Mitzy, to Asti, to Jerzey, to Winston, with honorable mention to Arthur the skunk.

His wife, Sara, was the love of his life and he was hers, they were best friends and soulmates, inseparable only upon death. In his honor, Larry would love to know that you will remember him by raising a glass, preferably bourbon, laughing with friends, playing with pets and keeping the yards and vehicles looking nice.

Sara, I was so very saddened to hear of Larry’s passing. I haven’t seen you for so many years, but know that you are in my thoughts and heart right now.
