LeAnn Francis (Bennett) Jeanneret of Omaha, Nebraska, left this world on Tuesday, September 7, 2021, after recently celebrating her 80th birthday with family and friends. LeAnn was born August 19, 1941, in Nebraska City, Nebraska; the oldest of five children to Frank and Dorothy (Volkmer) Bennett. She attended Brock High School where she met her high school sweetheart and future husband, Gerald “Jerry” Jeanneret. In 1959 she graduated from Brock HS with valedictorian honors, moved to Omaha and continued her studies at the Commercial Extension School of Commerce (later renamed the Nebraska College of Business).

Raised with the strong work ethic instilled by her parents, her exceptional performance at the college was quickly recognized and she was soon recruited for a position in the US Federal Court System. She dedicated herself to that position for over forty two years, working tirelessly under multiple federal judges until her own retirement in 2002.

LeAnn and Jerry were married on April 8, 1961, and blessed with two children to whom they were fully devoted. Both children were raised in Omaha and attended Holy Cross School and Church where LeAnn was an active member for fifty years. Her faith, dedication, and compassion for others was abundant. She was not only chosen as Godmother to many; she was a second mother to countless. Her loved ones were showered with the creative endeavors at which she excelled: cake decorating, knitting, tutoring, and above all, her infamous Christmas cookies.

LeAnn was beloved by many. She was quick with a laugh and consistently found the silver lining in even the most daunting of situations. LeAnn never complained, nor criticized or judged. She was a kind and generous woman and those who basked in the glow of her company were blessed. She will be missed.

LeAnn is survived by her husband of sixty years, Gerald “Jerry” Jeanneret of Omaha, NE.; two children, Michael Jeanneret of Omaha, NE. and Cheryl Jeanneret of Eugene, OR.; siblings, Lois Wilson of Fargo, ND. and Alan Bennett (Kathy) of Papillion, NE; as well as an extended and loving family.  She was preceded in death by parents, Frank and Dorothy Bennett; her siblings, Paul and Glenn Bennett; brother-in-law, Tim Wilson; and nephew, Patrick Wilson.

Sympathy to the family. The Bennett family has been as much a part of our family as the Ohnmacht’s. Prayers to you all
