Survived by wife, Dorothy J. Hitt; sons, Dennis L. and David T. (Coleen); two grandchildren, Christopher Hitt (Amanda) and Jacqueline Lockett (Joe); two great-grandchildren; sisters, Ileana Ellis and Mary Ellen Yarger; brothers, Charles and Jacob (Virginia); sisters-in-law, Rosemarie Hitt and Sue Puls; brother-in-law, Larry Puls (Mary Ann); several nieces and nephews.

VISITATION: Monday, April 11th from 5pm to 7pm at the West Center Chapel.  FUNERAL SERVICE: Tuesday, April 12th at 10am at Hope Presbyterian Church, 5220 S. 159th Ave. in Omaha.  Interment, Evergreen Memorial Park.  Memorials are suggested to Hope Presbyterian Church.

     Lee Hitt was bon on February 10, 1931, to Robert and Dora (Bode) Hitt in Lyman, Iowa.  He grew up in and around Massena, Iowa.  After graduation from high school there, he furthered his education at Commercial Extension in Omaha.  From there, he began working for the Burlington Railroad where he met the love of his live, Dorothy Puls.

     Lee and Dorothy were married on May 24, 1952, at Kountze Memorial Lutheran Church.  Lee was a devoted husband and family man. He was the father of Dennis and David (Coleen); the grandpa of Christopher (Amanda) and Jackie Lockett (Joe); and the great-grandpa of Wyatt and William Lockett.

     Lee worked for Burlington Northern in Omaha and Lincoln for 43 years.  He and Dorothy were married for nearly 70 years.  Lee and Dorothy loved to dance, and they loved to travel, especially to weddings and events for family and friends.  Lee also enjoyed all sports, most notably bowling and golf.

     Lee was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Bob; his brothers-in-law: Leonard Puls, Ewing Ellis, and Ron Yarger; sisters-in-law, Karen Hitt and Teresa Hitt.  Lee is survived by his wife, Dorothy J. Hitt; sons, Dennis L. and David T. (Coleen); two grandchildren, Christopher Hitt (Amanda) and Jacqueline Lockett (Joe); two great-grandchildren; sisters, Ileana Ellis and Mary Ellen Yarger; brothers, Charles and Jacob (Virginia); sisters-in-law, Rosemarie Hitt and Sue Puls; brother-in-law, Larry Puls (Mary Ann); several nieces and nephews.

    So sorry to see that Mr. Hitt passed away. We lived about a block away in our younger years, and have very fond memories of being at the house playing wiffleball in the backyard with Dennis and David! Praying for all of you during this very difficult time. GOD bless! 🙏🏻
