Linda M. Nodes

June 27, 1945 – September 20, 2020

Preceded in death by parents, Clel and Doris Rydberg; and siblings, Ron Rydberg and Ann Eades.  Survived by husband, William M.; sons, Bill (Jennifer) and Brian (Beth); and grandchildren: Grace, Sam, Jacob, Jackson, Ben, Josh and Jayden.

Linda was born and raised in Shenandoah, IA and graduated from Shenandoah High School in 1963.  She often spoke fondly of her hometown and the friends and memories she had there.  She moved to Omaha in her early 20’s and met her husband Bill.  Linda and Bill were married for 51 years, raised 2 sons, and were proud grandparents to 7 grandchildren.

Linda worked for over 20 years at the Douglas County Extension Service, as well as several years at Covenant Presbyterian Church and Immanuel Courtyard.

Linda was kind and caring and loved her friends and family.  She was particularly proud of her sons and grandchildren.

She will be greatly missed.

So sorry to hear about Linda’s passing to the Church Triumphant! We enjoyed serving with Linda at Covenant Presbyterian Church when Linda served as an Administrative Assistant. She was always cheerful with a servant’s heart and was one of those Faithful Witnesses for Christ and His Kingdom wherever she went. Our condolences and Prayers are with her family.

    Be blessed!

    Sincerely in Christ,
    Pastor Kevin McDonald

Bill, just wanted to let you know that “old friends’ are always in my prayers.

My sympathies to Linda’s family. As I remember, we met just months before Linda and I were each to be married. I believe the management at the apartment complex on Saddle Creek introduced us knowing we were both looking for temporary roommates. We continued to work and shared a one bedroom apartment those months in 1969. I believe Linda got married in the summer, and I moved in with my soon-to-be-in-laws before my marriage in October. I left the area but met Linda again just a couple years ago at a meeting at her church. It was like no time separated us. She loved her church and her family. Blessings, Bev LaMaster Therkildson
