 ——————————————————————————————————————

Linda was born, raised, and attended school in Galesburg, Illinois. Daughter of Ray & Lucille Stebor. Sister to Ron and Terry. She attended Eastern Illinois University for a short time before her engagement to Bill.

Bill was in the Air Force at the time and promised they would honeymoon in the United Kingdom. Their wedding took place in Galesburg, Illinois on June 9, 1962. After a short honeymoon they were off to San Angelo, Texas for a short stay.

The government can often change their mind. So off to Fairbanks, Alaska for the next two and a half years. Linda worked for Household Finance while living in Fairbanks. Following Alaska, they were assigned to Offutt in Bellevue.

March of 1966 saw the birth of Daughter Sherry. Linda and Sherry stayed with Linda’s parents while Bill was in Vietnam. Linda and Bill would meet in Hawaii for a short R&R.

Bill left the Air Force and Linda started working for a few doctors’ offices. In 1972 saw the birth of son Eric.

After the children were a little older, Linda took up golfing. Ladies day, leagues and couple’s golf. Accomplishments with two holes in one. Linda really enjoyed cruises with friends and a 2002 trip to Europe with friends.

In 1990, Linda and Bill became Grandparents for the first time. Over the years 5 more Grandchildren were born: Ally, Trey, Mitchell. Brennen. Devin and McKenna. Linda loved being a Grandmother more than anything. She loved going to the soccer games, dance recitals, baseball games, basketball games, football games and golf tournaments.

Bill’s retirement in 2005 was followed by winters in Florida. More golf and traveling.

During her later years Linda suffered from Dementia which limited her enjoyment for traveling and golf. We are incredibly grateful Linda was able to attend Ally & Zach’s wedding in October 2021.

Dementia might have taken so much from Linda, but we hold onto so many good memories over the years.
