Lisa L. (Griffin) Barajas

Lisa L. (Griffin) Barajas

August 17, 1958 – January 18, 2020

Lisa passed away peacefully on January 18, 2020.  She came into this world courtesy of Madelyn Griffin, and grew from a loving daughter, into the best mother to two wonderful daughters, Micaela Hale and Chelsea Hunter.  A true friend to everyone she met, her warm heart was contagious, as was her sense of humor, wit and strong-willed nature.

Lisa was always there for her family and friends.  She had a natural intuition for knowing when someone needed her, and she never hesitated to lift their spirits.  Her loyal spirit and dedication to family will be carried on by her daughters and her grandchildren, Kayden, Graecyn and Crew, whom she absolutely adored and cherished.  Her ability to see the best of us, honored by her best friend, Joel Schaffer.  As well as her sense of duty to family, that she exemplified and entrusted to her daughter’s husbands, Alex Hale and Kyle Hunter.

Lisa’s legacy will live on through those whose lives she touched every day.  Her compassion, her laughter and her tenacity will not disappear, as she taught all of us how to look at the world through a different lens.  Her selflessness and charisma was unwavering, as was her character and devotion to those closest to her.  She will always be in our hearts and forever a part of our souls.  We know she will watch over us with a smile filled with love and care.  May she rest in peace.

She is survived by her mother, Madelyn Griffin; daughters, Micaela Hale (Alex), Chelsea Hunter (Kyle); grandchildren, Kayden, Graecyn and Crew; brother, Kent Griffin (LeeAnn); and best friend, Joel Schaffer.

Family will receive friends Tuesday, January 21st from 5pm to 7pm followed by a CELBRATION OF LIFE at 7pm, all at the West Center Chapel.  Memorials will be directed by the family.

Lisa was just one of a kind. I was very lucky to be one whom she called a friend. I know that losing Lisa will leave a void in your lives and hearts. May your memories help you through this difficult time.

My life was truly enriched when this bubbly, full of fun soul came into my life. She introduced me to playing with Barbies and sneaking into her brothers room to ‘borrow “ GI Joe. We had a lot of ‘creative “ adventures whenever we were together. I was so happy when we reconnected on Facebook and were able to share time together on our trips to Nebraska. I liked forward to her quirky posts. I am a better person because of her being part of my life. I only wish that distance didn’t keep us apart. But I am consoled because she brought love & delight to so many. Her impact will continue on through the passage of time. Love to all. Helena McGill , Gerry, Chris & Ben Schulze

Today I was telling a story about a time I was interesting someone with Lisa, and what she said still stick with me today. She was an amazing person and I’m still laughing and smiling about how much I adored her as a friend and co-worker. Only then did I learn that Lisa has passed away a couple of months ago. My heart is broken. I hope her daughters will realize someday just much Lisa impacted so many of us. I will forever hear her laughter and see her smiling face. She left a legacy that was so beautifully captured in her obituary. I will miss you Lisa!!!

From the first time I met her as a teenage classmate, I knew she was a very kind and warm hearted person I instantly was attracted to her quick wit and beauty. The summers with her and all of our friends will live in our hearts forever. Especially the times we spent visiting her grandmother. She is and was a truly beautifully kind person. It is sad that she had to leave this world so soon but I’m sure God has a special place for her. She will be missed.May God bless her and her family.
