In Loving Memory of Loarn “Bub” Kelley

Loarn “Bub” Kelley, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grand father and friend, passed away peacefully on February 14, 2024, at home. He was surrounded by his loving family as he transitioned into eternal rest.

Born on October 14, 1942, in Friend, Nebraska, Loarn lived a life defined by warmth, wisdom, and unwavering love for his family. His wife, children and grandchildren were the light of his life, and he embraced his role as a father with boundless affection and devotion.

Loarn was known for his gentle demeanor, his infectious laughter, and his ability to find joy in the simplest moments. He leaves behind a treasure trove of memories, from shared adventures to quiet conversations filled with love and wisdom. Beyond his role as a loving husband and father, Loarn was a pillar of strength and support to his family and friends.

In his free time, Loarn enjoyed photography, which brought him joy. He approached life with a sense of curiosity and wonder, always eager to learn and explore new experiences. Loarn was an avid traveler, as he had traveled all 48 states, his favorite being South Dakota and Louisiana.

Loarn was known as the guy to be a part of the family regardless of the relationship status as he had a deep relationship with his brothers and sisters-in-law. He was adored by anyone that he got a chance to run into.

Loarn is survived by his devoted wife, Jackie; children: Annette Rodgers (Ed Rodgers), Douglas Kelley, Robert Kelley (Monica Kelley); grandchildren: Sean Brozak (April Brozak), Jesse Rodgers, Ashley Gomez (Roberto Gomez), Corey Kelley, Tomas Christy, Eric Christy, Douglas Kelley JR. Jocelyn Kelley, Jonathan Kelley, Julia Kelley; great-grandchildren: Colby Brozak, Shane Brozak, Vayda Gomez, Roberto Jr. Gomez. Loarn was preceded in death by his parents, Loarn and Octavia Kelley; in-laws, Clarence and Violet Bazant; along with granddaughter, Mycayla Kelley.

A VISITATION will be held on February 19, 2024, at Heafey-Hoffmann-Dworak-Cutler, West Center Chapel (7805 W Center Rd.) from 5pm to 7pm followed by a VIGIL at 7pm.

FUNERAL SERVICE will be held on February 20th, at St. Roberts (120th and Pacific) at 10:30am.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Dementia Society of America, in honor of Loarn’s compassionate spirit and generous heart.

Though he may be gone, Loarn will forever remain alive in our memories and in the love we shared. May he rest in peace, knowing he was deeply cherished and will be profoundly missed.
