Louise Dorothy Fehr-Placek

Louise Fehr-Placek, 89, of Omaha, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 24, 2023. Her final days where spent surrounded by family and those that loved her.
Louise was born to parents, Louis and Helen Kosmacek, on September 1, 1934, in Omaha. Her father sadly passed away and her mother, Helen married Lindsey Davenport, whom Louise was loved and raised by. She graduated from South High School and soon after, married the love of her life, John “Jack” Fehr Sr. She was married to Jack for 40 years and they had three children: Vanessa, Taina and John. Jack was in the military and the family traveled overseas for his duties, including spending three years in Madrid, Spain. They enjoyed the experience abroad and created lifelong memories that they still cherish to this day.
Louise and Jack loved the lake life and spent a lot of time in Minnesota and at the Lake of the Ozarks enjoying the outdoors, boating, fishing and spending time with family. Louise loved to dance and flower gardening; her energy and smile was infectious. She had a long and successful career in Human Resources at K-Mart. Then, upon retirement, she held a part-time teacher aid position at Spring Ridge Elementary School until the age of 85. She loved working with the children, and you could tell by the way she told stories that it brought her pure joy and happiness. She always said being at the school is what kept her young!
After being widowed, Louise met and married Edwin Placek. During their years together they enjoyed many wonderful trips traveling and spending time in Florida.
Louise was dedicated to her family and leaves behind daughter, Vanessa and son-in-law, Raymond Menichetti; daughter, Taina Kelly and son, John Fehr, Jr. She leaves behind a legacy of five grandchildren: Rick, Cody, Jaime, Taylor, and Faline; seven great-grandchildren: Kendyl, Kamryn, Will, Eleanor, Luke, Cole, and Brody who loved and adored her. Louise is also survived by her sisters: Mary Helen Dober, Dorothy Wurgler and Linda Scrivner.
Louise was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Fehr, Sr; husband, Edwin Placek; sister, Barbara Greenwood; son-in-law, David L. Kelly; father, Louis Kosmacek; parents, Lindsey and Helen Davenport.

I am sorry for your mothers passing Vanessa,Taina & John. May she Rest In Peace. Sending prayers for your healing in this time of mourning. God bless you all.
I worked with Louise at Spring Ridge. Working with her was some of the most enjoyable time I have had at or outside of work. Her kindness, humor and knowledge made the days worthwhile.
