Lynda Kaye Johnson-Bailey-Ehrlich was born on October 9, 1946, at The Lutheran Deaconess Home in Omaha, Nebraska.  She was adopted by two wonderful people, Milburn and Mildred Johnson of rural Craig, Nebraska. They had already adopted a son, Arlan, three years before.  They all lived together on the rented Craig farm. In 1958, they moved to another farm owned by her father’s sister near Seward, Nebraska, where they farmed  three years.  Lynda completed 7th grade in a one-room country schoolhouse with only one other boy in her class.  For 8th grade and Confirmation, she attended the LCMS elementary parochial school in Seward, Nebraska, her Freshman year at Seward Public School.

In 1961, the family moved again, but this time off the farm to the Millard, Nebraska community where her mother’s sister and husband lived.  Eventually, they built a beautiful home and Lynda graduated in 1964 from Millard High School, which now is Millard Central Middle School, with 58 in her class. After high school, she attended UNL in Lincoln, Nebraska for two years before leaving for the working world.  In 1966, she moved to Norfolk, Virginia with a college friend where she worked as a Respiratory Therapist and met and married her 1st husband, Jerry L. Bailey, in 1972. They had moved to Raleigh, North Carolina, where their daughter, Connie Lynn Bailey was born in 1977.  When Connie was 3 years old, their family moved back to Omaha where two years later, she and Jerry divorced.

In 1992, Lynda was married to Edward D. Ehrlich and shortly after, received her Associate Degree in     Small Business Administration from Metro Community College in Elkhorn, Nebraska. She worked in the clerical field until her retirement at age 62.  Lynd and Ed continued living in Omaha until her death at age 75.  They celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary in May of 2017 and remained faithful and active members of LCM for over 29 years.

She was preceded in death by parents, Mildred and Milburn Johnson; brother, Arlan L. Johnson.  She is survived by husband, Edward D. Ehrlich of Omaha; daughter and husband, Connie L. and Jamie Freeman; grandson, Douglas A. McConnell, Jr. all of EZ Smith, Arkansas stepson, Todd E. Ehrlich of Omaha; stepdaughter and husband, Valerie A. and Tom Rockett of Alvarado, Texas; step-grandchildren, Amanda C. Ehrlich of Arlington, Texas and Corey J. Arnold of Alvarado, Texas; many cousins and friends.
