Lynda Paulette Chapton
August 23, 1942 – March 21, 2024
Lynda Paulette Chapton, 81, was ushered home to heaven on March , 2024, to meet her Savior and those who have gone before. Lynda was born on August 23, 1942 to parents Paul and Doris Hartley, in Scottsbluff Nebraska. Her dad was a farm hand for a few different farms in Western Nebraska. The Hartley family was able to purchase a 200 acre farm in 1950 and it is still owned by a family member. This farm was where Lynda cared for her siblings, hung laundry on the clothes-line, vacuumed once a week, did dishes, gathered eggs, and fed the chickens, along with many other farm chores. At the age of eleven, Lynda accepted the free gift of Salvation while attending Camp Grace during the summer of 1953. After graduating from high school, Lynda moved to Omaha, Nebraska to attend Grace Bible Institute, where she received a degree in missions. She began working as a nurse’s aid at Lutheran Hospital. It was there that Lynda met the love of her life, Gene Chapton. Gene and Lynda were married on August 28, 1965 in Wheatland, Wyoming. Lynda was a faithful member of Ralston Baptist Church and Karen Street Baptist Church for many years.
Lynda is survived by her three daughters and their spouses and children: Judy Carroll (John), Sarah Bishop (Jerry), and Amy Coleman (Scott). She was blessed with 13 grandchildren: Michael, Cody, Lauren, Anna, Jacob, Priscilla, Nathaniel, Haley, Esther, Benjamin, Connor, Luke, and Ruth; 15 great-grandchildren: Jaxson, Kinley, Elliot, Berkley, Becca, Micah, Lincoln, Carter, Eliza, Oliver, Timothy, Ava, and three to be born! She is also survived by her brothers, Dave and Dan Hartley, sister, Melissa Nantz (Dan).
Lynda was been preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Doris Hartley; and her loving husband, Gene.

Amy, Scott & all the families – I am sorry to hear about the loss of your Mom, Grandma and Great Grandma. I always enjoyed visiting with Lynda when we sat in her yard to watch the Ralston 4th of July Parade. She had a kind heart and will be missed. Sending prayers for all!
What a sad day to hear this news. So many great memories bowling with Lynda and all the events at church. She was an amazing lady! When I had my babies and she was at Bergen she snuck me in Diet coke! No better friend than that. Much sympathy to you all.
Our sympathies in the passing of your dear mother. We will be praying as you go through your loss.
I had the pleasure of working with Lynda many years ago in the newborn nursery at Bergan Mercy. I have fond memories of her. She was a dedicated and kind woman. My sympathies to her friends and family.
