Rev. Deacon Lynne (Lazier) Bacon

April 28, 1946 – August 30, 2018

Rev. Deacon Lynne L. Bacon, 72, passed away on Thursday, August 30th after a long battle with cancer.  Lynne is survived by her spouse of 50 years, W. Meredith Bacon; her brother, Bruce F. Lazier of Pittsburgh, PA; godson, Ethan Tiernan-Lang of Omaha; special adoptees, Jennifer Aesoph of Omaha, (along with her children Derek Nelson, Sophia and Anna Aesoph) and Clara Bridges of Arlington, VA (along with her husband Kent and sons Gregory and Julian).

Lynne taught French and Spanish at Creighton Prep for 31 years.  After retiring from Creighton Prep, she then worked for Conagra as a bilingual customer service representative for seven years.  Lynne was ordained as a vocational deacon at All Saints Episcopal Church in 1993.  As part of her ministry, she worked with the Omaha LGBTQ community, as well as other socially marginalized groups.  She served as the Executive Vice President of the Federation of Alliances Françaises of the United States, served on the Community Board of the Nebraska Shakespeare Festival, and was a Fulbright Scholar in Romania.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the NE Foundation-UNO Political Science Department; The Menard Scholarship; or the Creighton Prep Scholarship Fund.

Funeral Services: Thursday, September 6th at 11am at All Saints Episcopal Church, 9302 Blondo.  Lunch will be provided immediately following the service.

    I am shocked and extremely saddened to read of Lynne’s passing. I was checking Facebook in an attempt to contact her and Meredith about our upcoming 50th college reunion. This was not what I expected to find. Hugs and love to all Lynne’s family and friends. I am devastated to know she is no longer in this world. Margie Lust Miller
