William L. “Bill” Mackintosh Oct 18, 1954 – Mar 26, 2016 Bill Mackintosh, age 61, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on March 26, 2016 in Omaha, Nebraska. He courageously battled advanced prostate cancer for almost three years. Bill was born October 18, 1954 in Manhattan, Kansas to Darlene and David Mackintosh, and was raised in Gallatin, Missouri. Bill graduated from Gallatin High School in 1972. After high school he attended Northwest Missouri State University where he was a member of Phi Sigma Epsilon, and received his Masters of Business Administration from Regis University. He co-founded Financial Products Corporation in 1981, a computer maintenance company, and was also a partner in P&L Companies, a local leasing and technology company. One of Bill’s greatest joys in life was working alongside his children in their family business, American Title, Inc, since 2004. Over the last 12 years the company has grown through Bill’s vision and leadership and was recognized as one of Omaha’s Best Places to Work in 2011 and 2014. His greatest gifts to the world were his giving spirit and his sense of humor. He gave back to his community through his business ventures and his involvement in many non-profit organizations. His love for life was apparent by anyone who was fortunate enough to know him; his laughter was contagious. Bill’s favorite role was as Papa to his five grandchildren. He is survived by the love of his life, wife of 39 years, Jodie (Hamilton) Mackintosh; children: Michael (Regan), Ashley Horgan (Clark); mother: Darlene; brother: Robert Bruce; sister: Kathryn Ann and her daughter Becky; grandchildren: Sloan, Molly, Cole, William and Colin; many, many beloved relatives and friends. Bill was preceded in death by his father, Dr. David O.; his brother, Michael Edward; his sister, Barbara Sue. The family will receive friends Thursday, March 31st from 5 pm to 7 pm at St. Andrews United Methodist Church, 15050 West Maple Road; Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, April 1st at 11 a.m. also at St. Andrews United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Bill and Jodie Mackintosh Powering Dreams Scholarship or to the Prostate Cancer Foundation. Checks for the scholarship fund should be made payable to Northwest Foundation and mailed to NWMSU, 800 University Drive, Maryville, MO 64468. Please specify Mackintosh Scholarship in the memo line.
