Marcella J. (Swanda) Zaloudek

January 15, 1930 – June 21, 2020

 

Preceded in death by beloved husband, Jerry J. Zaloudek; parents, W.M. Swanda and Tillie Swanda; and brother, Mel Swanda.  Survived by loving sons, David A. Zaloudek and Daniel L. Zaloudek (Lisa); five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brother, William Swanda (Gerry); also many special nieces and nephews.

Private Family CELEBRATION OF LIFE: Saturday, June 27th, 1pm, at the West Center Chapel.  Memorials are suggested to Nebraska Heart Association.

    What a beautiful 90 years you experienced! So many memories for me starting on North 40th Street and then our move to Papillion. Marcy, I lost count on how many perms you gave me each year … I always had the tight curls! And, the awesome Mayonnaise Cake you made and lucky for me shared your recipe … I’ve made it during this pandemic! And the greatest blessing of all is Mom and Dad selected you to be my Godmother.       Thank you for sharing your fond memories of Mom. I rember those tight perms and all the fun we had growing up. I hope our paths cross in a mutual Omaha visit in the future. I will be here until mid July.

    My dear cousin Marcella. How I remember you and your husband David with much affection.
    One poignant memory was when I was 12 yrs. old and you cut my long hair. My Dad (John Swanda) was so heartbroken that he had to step outside.
    I send my love and sympathy to Marcella’s family and also to the other Swanda cousins.
    I trust that Marcella is with her loved ones amongst the angels and is now free from pain.

    p.s. Our cousin Jackie Best Muhle passed away Mon., June 22, 2020 at the age of 94. Her husband died 25 years earlier on June 22, 1995 from a tragic truck accident. We are wondering if she waited til this date to leave us and join her husband Gordon.

    Marcy was just happy to be around family! Thanks to Dan who would go out of his way to bring her, she always enjoyed the food and company! Always complimenting every one. If my kids take care of me when I can’t take care of myself like Dan did his mother, I would be blessed! The love they had for each other was inspirational! She will be missed at our family gatherings that is for sure!

      Thank you Linda. Marcy loved all of you guys and so enjoyed our family get togethers. She especially appreciated the opportunity to see all the grandchildren play and sit and visit with everyone. She loved talking with you and Jody.

    I work at the Clarkson Gift Shop at Nebraska Medicine. I waited on Dan in the shop the other day when he ordered flowers for his Mom. I took his delivery upstairs to her. I was sorry to see that she passed away. My sympathies to your family.

    Dave, my heart aches for you, because you not only lost your mom, but your best friend. I fondly remember how she doted on you and it was a gift to witness you dote on her.

    I am so comforted to know she passed having seen you first. Her passing could not have been peaceful for her without your presence. Please know I am there for you, when the tears come, Dave.

    I have wonderful memories of Gramma Marc….one of them being that she always saved her copies of the National Enquirer for Julie, and we would read them like crazy during our sleepovers. She will be missed by so many, and I’m honored to have known her.

    Dave, Dan and family – The Krca family sends our sincere condolences. Rita will especially miss your Mom and their long phone calls. We had a great time at her 90th birthday and are happy we were able to attend. Great neighbors are few and far between and both of our families had a wonderful, close connection that lasted for over 50 years. Our love and prayers are with you all.

    Marcy was a great mother-in-law and I loved her very much. I think the first time I met her was when Dan & I were teens and Dan invited me to go tobogganing down the big hill behind their house which was just a field at that time. Afterwards he ran in and asked his mom if I could stay for dinner. Marcy was making fried chicken – really really good as I recall and of course said yes and made me feel right at home. Will miss you so much Marcy but I know you’re enjoying the beauty of Heaven now with no more tears and no more pain. I pray that the Lord will bring precious memories to mind for all who loved Marcy. That is her legacy and gift. “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable – if anything is excellent or praiseworthy — think about such things.” Philippians 4:8

    Sending condolences to you Dan, Lisa, and your family members. It is inspiring to read the thoughts that are being shared. Your Mother was a very special woman, it is clear to see, and a blessing to those she was around. May you feel God’s comfort as you say your final goodbyes.
    I John 4: 16 and 19 .(King James Version) “And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love: and he that dwelleth in love, dwelleth in God and God in him. We love Him because He first loved us.” I am so glad you were the last person she spoke to. Blessings on you all as you gather and celebrate her life.

    Sorry to hear of your mom’s passing. You wouldn’t remember me but I am Clarice (Texel) Wiese’s oldest daughter. You and Danny kept me entertained while the parents were visiting. I remember the movie you took me to Your Cheatin Heart I never forgot how nice you boys were to me and how much fun my parents had being with yours. Both of my parents are gone now and my heart goes out to you both.Take care , your second cousin Lynn

    I want to take this opportunity to tell everyone how much it means to myself and my family to have all of you leave comments of support, stories and memorials for Mom (Marcy). You all are special people that have been touched by the Lord’s hand in extending compassion to others. My prayer for all of you is that God’s mercy and grace open your hearts to move close to Him so His unmeasured love will lift you up to be light for others to see in this world.
