Marcella, known to all as “Marcy” passed from this life on July 25, 2023, at Brookestone Village in Omaha, NE. Marcy was born as Marcella M Wagman, in Omaha, NE to Elmer J Wagman and Clarinda J Millenkamp Wagman. She attended Catholic school in the Omaha area and graduated from Omaha South in 1949.
Marcy was united in marriage to Donald E Burson on May 5, 1951, in Omaha.
During her lifetime, her interests in people and fashion led her to a career in women’s styles. This is where she discovered a keen sense of fashion clothing and accessories that made every woman look and feel gorgeous!
Her interests provided her a career which took her to positions at Younkers, Zoob’s, Katelman’s, Wolf Brothers, The Tailored Woman, and other shops in the Omaha area. She had a wonderful time working in the fashion business and had the pleasure of dressing many well-known singers on the concert circuit through Ak-Sar-Ben!
In 1979 she moved from Omaha to Fairport, New York. In Fairport, Marcy assumed a position as a Gift Buyer for Sarah Coventry Jewelry.
Marcy returned to Omaha in 1989 to care for her mother.
During her 5-decade career she made many friends and business contacts. She did all this while raising 4 children and caring for her mother.
Marcy loved visiting with her longtime friends and new ones alike. Being a salesperson at heart Marcy took great interest in tuning in to the Shopping Channels. In her later years she brought her energy to the retirement homes she lived in. Her caregivers and friends will remember her spirit and miss the daily walks.
Preceding her in death were her father, Elmer; mother, Clarinda; husband, Donald.
She is survived by her four children: Jane (Larry) Heng of Pompano Beach, FL, Michael Burson of Carter Lake, IA, Patrick (Candy) Burson of Farmington, NY, Jo Dee (Tim) Schallehn of Carter Lake, IA. Marcy leaves behind one grandson; four granddaughters; several great-grandchildren.

JoDee I am so sorry for your loss, I know how hard it is to loose your mom and I know you will find comfort in your memories and knowing she is home! Love to you and Tim and Nick.
My Deepest Sympathies to all the Family…I very much enjoyed bringing communion and my visits with Marcy these past few months..Marcy was so welcoming, positive and friendly to me.. Marcy was always so reverent in receiving communion and would always tell me how lovely the communion prayers were..She always had a sparkle in her eyes and loved to laugh at stories she would tell me..So great to know Marcy is now in her eternal glory with our Lord!
