Marcia R.  Nixon

September 17, 1940 – June 4, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marcia R. Nixon, who left us peacefully on June 4, 2024, surrounded by family, at the age of 83.

Born on September 17, 1940, in Ironton, Ohio, Marcia’s journey through life left an enduring impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Marcia’s dedication to service was exemplified through her membership in the Order of the Eastern Star. She was also a member of the VFW, and retired from civil service after 27 years.

After retirement, Marcia found joy in reading and ceramics. Her ceramic creations became not only expressions of her artistic talents, but also cherished mementos for her family and friends.

Marcia was preceded in death by her son, Eric Webster; her brothers, Charles Haws and Jack Haws; her parents, Hazel Campbell and Kenneth Haws; and stepfather, John Campbell.

She is survived by her sister, Donna Hall; with whom she lived for many years, as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, and their families.

A service to honor Marcia will take place on Saturday, June 15th, at 11:00 a.m., West Center Chapel, 7805 West Center Rd.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to a charity of your choice in Marcia’s name, reflecting her legacy of generosity and compassion.

Carl says, “I cherish the many wonderful memories I have of Marcia during our teenage years. She was always so thoughtful and caring.” Carl and Diane say, “We enjoyed all the wonderful get-togethers we had with Donna and Marcia which often culminated with a visit to various restaurants for lunch. We have already started missing Marcia and are happy we were able to visit her at rehab those few times before she left us for good. Love and hugs to all of Marcia’s family and friends.”

The strength of this woman through the years was nothing but amazing. Her courage to always push on and persevere no matter what was put in front of her is something I hope to take with me through all my years. Truly something to look up to! We will miss you Marcie!
