Margaret A. Collins
October 21, 1944 – November 28, 2024
Margaret Ann Maher was born to Martin and Neda Maher in Carroll, IA on 10/21/1944. The true middle of seven children, she attended St. Lawrence Elementary School, and Kuemper Catholic High School. She then attended St. Catherine’s nursing school in Omaha, NE. It was there that she met Michael Collins, a medical student at Creighton. They married April 16, 1966. Over the years they raised six children. After several moves, they settled in Omaha, NE, and were integral members of the community. They supported many organizations, but especially Mercy High School, Mt Michael Benedictine High School, and Christ the King Parish and School. Maggie’s life was one of service to her family and God, often doing so quietly and behind the scenes. She was an unfailing source of love, wisdom, and kindness to everyone. She was humble; a listener, never quick to speak, and always generous with encouragement and acceptance.
Preceded in death by husband, Michael M. Collins, M.D., brothers Joseph Maher and Thomas Maher, and parents Martin and Neda Maher.
