Margaret Goeser “Marge” Connell
January 12, 1931 – November 21, 2023
A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.
Margaret Goeser “Marge” Connell, age 92 years, passed away on November 21, 2023.
Born on January 12, 1931, she was the daughter of Henry C. Goeser and Mary Wingert Goeser. She grew up in Earling with her seven brothers and one sister, attending St. Joseph’s Elementary and High School.
She married the love of her life, Richard ‘Dick’ Connell, and celebrated more than 60 years of marriage before his passing in 2014.
Marge’s life was centered around her family of six children and her faith. She trusted in that faith when one of her children was called home early in his life. Marge was also a patriot, proud to count more than a dozen military servicemembers among her husband, brothers, sons and daughters, and grandchildren,
She enjoyed traveling both across the USA as well as brief visits to other countries. She was a great fan of board and card games, insisting that her grandchildren would learn many of the games that she played as a little girl. She was a dedicated gardener; some of her children have shoots of her rhubarb and onion plants growing in their own gardens today.
She spent her final years at Hillcrest Estates and later at Parson’s House, where she continued her love of games, gardening, and stories for as long as she was able.
Marge is survived by her five living children and their spouses: Patrick and Mary (Kunes) Connell, Charles and Pamela Connell Hunt, John and Terri (Perrone) Connell, Glen and Mary Connell Langenfeld, and Richard and Tiz (Roth) Connell; eleven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Marge was preceded in death by husband, Dick; son, Robert; and all of her siblings. Hopefully, there is a great board game going on somewhere that they are all participating in.
