Margaret J. “Peg” Ziegler

Margaret J. “Peg” Ziegler

April 25, 1925 – May 22, 2021

Margaret was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.   On February 14, 1953, she married Thomas F. Ziegler, and in 1955, they moved to Omaha, Nebraska.  They made this city their home and eventually settled in the Westgate neighborhood to raise their children.

Peg held a strong Christian faith and was a member of West Hills Church for 59 years.  She worked many years at Anthony’s Steakhouse and enjoyed going to work each day. Peg had a passion for quilting and made sure each grandchild received a new quilt at high school graduation.  She was a voracious reader, loved to shop garage and estate sales for a “treasure”, and was a gifted cook, and hostess.  Peg had a multitude of friends and always lent a hand to anyone in need.

Preceded in death by parents, Josephine and LeRoy J. Miller, husband, Thomas F. Ziegler; son, Timothy Frank Ziegler; two brothers.  Survived by children: Mary Jo Thomas, Thomas F. Ziegler, Jr., Jeffrey R. Ziegler, Cheryl A. Christensen (Bruce), Pamela S. Lang (Curt); a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

VISITATION: Thursday, May 27th from 10am to 11am at West Hills Church, 3015 S. 82nd Avenue, followed by FUNERAL SERVICE at 11am.  Interment: Evergreen Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the West Hills Church or Omaha Public Library Foundation.

Mary Jo, Sorry to read about the passing of your Mother. You and I had some very happy and memorable times together in high school. I will remember you and your family in my prayers to help you through this difficult time. Cindy Lange OKeefe
