Margaret M. Pouster
March 2, 1925 – March 17, 2024
Born to Harry and Una Myers on March 2, 1925. I joined my brothers and sister, Harold, Richard, and Dorothy. I grew up on the farm and graduated from Lyons High School in 1942. World War II started during high school and commodities like sugar, flour, and tires were hard to get.
My first job was at McKesson & Robbins in Omaha, Nebraska. Later, I became a teacher at Arthur Murray’s Dance Studio. This is where I met the “love of my life,” Edward Pouster. We married in 1949. I worked in Vital Statistics before adopting Patricia Ann in 1955. A son, Edward Michael, was born to our family in 1957 and made our family complete.
I became a dental assistant for thirteen years. In 1986 both my husband (from Union Pacific Railroad) and I retired. After retiring, I began to attend Aquasize classes regularly at the pool near my home which lasted for 30 years!
My husband, Edward, passed away in 2015. I moved to Dallas to be near my son, Ed, and his wife, Jamie. Since 2016, I have lived at Pioneer Ridge Senior Living Facility.
I leave behind my children, Pat and Dennis Austin, of Omaha, Nebraska; Ed and Jamie Pouster of Prosper, Texas. I have five grandchildren: Erin and Amos Kodjo, Eric Austin, and David Austin of Omaha, Nebraska, Emily and Ryan Davidson of Prosper, Texas, Spencer and Tiffini Pouster of Aubrey, Texas; six great-grandchildren: Samuel, Faith, and Jack Kodjo of Omaha, Nebraska, Allie and Reid Davidson of Prosper, Texas, Beckett Pouster of Aubrey, Texas.
