Margery Susan Cunningham

Margery Susan Cunningham left her earthly life September 9, 2023.  She was born June 27, 1945, in Council Bluffs, Iowa to George and Lillie (From) Cunningham. She attended St. Francis Xavier School for 12 years, graduating with the final in 1963.

Margery graduated from Creighton University and taught briefly at Head Start before moving into the Travel Business.  She worked in Omaha and transferred to Colorado Springs, Colorado, in 1972.

She joined her business partner, Fredrick V. Garcia, in a startup IT company in 1986, and was a primary partner for the remainder of her life.  Margery and Fredrick married in 2016.

Margery was preceded in death by her parents, George and Lillie (From) Cunningham; husband, Fredrick Garcia; brother, George Cunningham; sisters, Isabelle (Buck) O’Grady, and Ann Whitcomb.

Margery is survived by, Dan and Tina Brown; her grandchildren, Andrew (Meaghan) Brown, and Nicolle (Ashton)Brown Iommi; four great-grandchildren; niece and caregiver, Christine Barnhart; sisters, Sr. Mary Georgita Cunningham, and Kathleen Mandina of Omaha, NE; brother, Br. Matthew Cunningham of Reno, NV; sister-in-law, Amy Cunningham; brother-in-law, Edward Whitcomb; many nieces and nephews.

Margery was preceded in death by her parents, George and Lillie Cunningham (From); husband, Fredrick Garcia; brother, George Cunningham; sisters, Isabelle (Buck) O’Grady, and Ann Whitcomb.

Memorial services will be held at Heafey Hoffman Dworak Cutler, West Center Chapel, 7805 West Center Road, Omaha, NE 68124, on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, from 6:30 – 8:30pm.
