Margie S. Konfrst
August 14, 1927 – December 21, 2023
Margie Konfrst was born on August 14, 1927, in Prague, Nebraska. She went to live for eternity with her Lord and Savior on December 21, 2023. She was 96. She lived in her home in Millard, Nebraska at the time of her death and died from an overused heart.
Margie was born in Prague, Nebraska to Tillie and Edward Mach. She had three loving brothers, Jerry, George and Rod. She married Merle Dean Minor in 1949 with whom she had seven children, Marjorie, Marty, Jesse, Bruce, Gary, Kathy, and Susan. She married Steve Konfrst in 1969 and they had one son, Steven.
Margie worked as a servant most of her life. For 13 years she worked as a waitress at the Bohemian Cafe proudly serving friends who became like family. She worked for 10 years at Millard High School South where she was quickly adopted as friend-mother-grandmother by staff and students. She retired from working outside the home in 1986.
She loved gardening and baking but most of all, she loved time visiting with family and friends. She enjoyed walking with family and friends around Zorinsky Lake whenever possible. When she could no longer walk on her own, she enjoyed riding her Nustep bike for exercise. She greatly enjoyed watching Western movies mostly with her two sons, Bruce and Marty but with absolutely anyone who would sit and watch with her. Her favorite tv shows to watch were The Price is Right and Let’s Make a Deal. But most of all, she enjoyed card games with family and friends and was especially talented at the card game, 31.
Margie endeared herself to nearly everyone with her loving attitude as well as a sense of humor that was sometimes a little salty as well as her ability to make everyone feel like family.
Margie is survived by her children Marjorie Tegels and her 3 children and 5 grandchildren, Marty Minor and wife, Cheryl and their 2 children and 3 grandchildren, Jesse Minor and wife, Sue and their 3 children and 6 grandchildren, the 3 children and 4 grandchildren of Bruce Minor, Gary Minor and wife, Theresa and their 2 children and 2 grandchildren, Kathy Guarino and husband, Keven and their 3 children and 9 grandchildren, and Susan Linn and husband, Jeff and their 1 child and 1 grandchild, Regina Konfrst and Braxton (Steven) .
Margie is also survived by sweet neighbors as close as family, Mike and Nancy Nielson and their family and Karol and Chris Kirby and their family. And we can’t forget her favorite mailman, Mark the mailman. She’s also survived by more people than we can count who called her Mother and Grandmother and especially the caregivers Nancy, Rae, Ronna, Prudencia and Vonette. Margie is predeceased in death by her father Ed Mach, mother Tillie Mach, husband Steve Konfrst, brothers Jerry, George and Rod Mach, sons Steven Konfrst, Bruce Minor and granddaughter Marissa Minor.
