Cheryl and Lanny, so sorry to hear this sad news. Marilyn was the epitome of organization and efficiency in the guidance center for many years. She was admired by all who worked with her, and her bright smile greeted all she encountered with much caring…she will be missed. My condolences to you.

I’m so sorry to hear this news. I spent a lot of time as a kid in the guidance center, first tagging along with my dad to work and later as a WHS student. Marilyn always found time for a chat and a smile. I’ve thought of her fondly in the many years since I left high school. My dad thought highly of her and if he was still around I’m sure he’d have wonderful things to say about her. My condolences to you all.

I am very sorry to learn of Marilyn’s passing. I often thought that the departments at Westside functioned well only when the “behind the scene” staff were kind and competent. Such was the case in Guidance. Marilyn was calm, steadfast, efficient, and above all, compassionate and helpful. Her quiet presence never sought the limelight–she just did her job, day after day, with professionalism and caring. We noticed, and were very lucky to have had her on staff.
