Marilyn Barton
Age 85
Marilyn was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa to the late Tommy and Nelle Somers. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry; son, Randy; brothers: Bob, Jim and Dick Somers. Marilyn attended TJ High School and graduated from UNO with an English Degree. She was very active in The League of Women Voters and Planned Parenthood. A lifetime Democrat, she relished being involved in local and national politics. Her favorite pastimes were reading, travel, golf and competitive bridge, where she played at the highest level. While attending spring break in Pensacola, Florida, she met her future husband of 63 years, Jerry. Together they raised three sons in the Omaha area, Randy, Brian and Doug. They traveled throughout the world and spent their winters in Vero Beach, Florida. Marilyn loved animals and always had a canine by her side. She is survived by sons, Doug (Diane) and Brian; eight grandchildren: Rob, Emily, Andrew, Kristin, David, Austin, Sydney, and Danielle; two great-grandchildren, Oliver and Cecilia.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

I’m so sorry to hear about Dougs mom, I know that you have a close family and she will be missed by all that knew her. I have lost 3 family members this year and any loss is humbling. If I can help you please reach out. Paul
