Mariruth Flint Peters

August 11, 1948 – October 28, 2021

Mariruth Flint Peters passed away October 28, 2021, in Omaha, Nebraska. Mariruth was born August 11, 1948, to Floyd Robert and Marilyn Lucille (Shearer Coffman) Flint in Pisgah, Iowa. She graduated from West Harrison High School in 1966, and attended Wayne State College. She worked for Upland Industries in Omaha, NE. Mariruth married George Edward Peters on May 31, 1980, in Mondamin, Iowa.

Her greatest joy was her family. Mariruth and George had two daughters, Stefanie Caroline and Samantha Noelle. Mariruth was also the proud stepmother to Christopher David. She was very active in the PTA while living in Arlington, Texas. Mariruth enjoyed genealogical research and spent a lot of time tracing her family tree. She loved the many trips she took with her family, including to a dude ranch in Wyoming, skiing in Colorado, Washington, D.C., Walt Disney World, California, and London. With Stefanie, Mariruth traveled to Rome, Paris, Dublin, Scotland, and Hong Kong.

Mariruth loved dancing, especially to the music of the Bee Gees. Her family will fondly remember her loudly playing the Ultimate Bee Gees CDs on every car trip, no matter how short the distance.

Mariruth was preceded in death by her husband, George, and her parents;  parents-in-law, Glenn and Darlene Peters. She is survived by her daughters, Stefanie Peters and Samantha Peters; stepson, Chris (Anna) Peters; brother, Robert (Rebecca) Flint; sisters, Marcia Flint and Annette Flint; and grandchild, Jay Peters.

Family will receive friends on Monday, November 1st, from 5pm to 7pm at the West Center Chapel.

Funeral Service: Tuesday, November 2nd, 1pm at the West Center Chapel.  Graveside Services at 3:30pm at Little Sioux Cemetery.

Memorials will be directed by the family.

    So sorry for your loss.
I will now associate the excellent Bee Gee song “You should be dancing!” with your mom dancing on clouds to Heaven.

So sorry for your loss. Got acquainted with Mariruth through my genealogy research and exchange of information between us and working on the Flint Family reunion with her and Dorothy. She was a joy to know and be around.

I am sorry for the loss of your mother. I will remember her from our Women at the Cross Weekend and the playing of her favorite music during our celebration time. Rest and dance well Mariruth.

Sending much love and many prayers of comfort to Stefanie and her family during this time of loss. I was pleased to have met Mariruth at a very significant event in Colorado and loved dancing to the BeeGees with her!

You were one of my closest friends for 50 years. Even though we lived many miles apart we could laugh and enjoy each other lives in long phone calls. I will miss you! So much love to Stefanie and Samantha. Cleo and Bob Lephart

Having grown up in Little Sioux, I remember Mariruth and all the Flint siblings fondly. She was a bit older than me, but I remember her kindness on the schoolbus….My sincere condolences to all her family at this time.
