Marjorie M. Stevens
January 18, 1922- September 27, 2023
Marjorie (Reed) Stevens was born in Percival, Iowa, on January 18, 1922, to Cora Mae (McBeth) and Robert Reed. She had two sisters and one brother.
Marjorie met her future husband, Raymond “Wes” Stevens, in a roller-skating rink in Sidney, Iowa. He had just enlisted in the Army/AirCorps. They were married in 1942 at Lowrey Airfield, Denver, CO. Marjorie was a Military Wife following her husband’s career. Wes eventually was commissioned. The war was going on. Marjorie and Wes had their only child, Suzanne, in 1955. Suzanne brought them much joy in their lives.
Sadly, Suzanne became ill and passed away in 1982 at the age of 27. Marjorie and Wes decided to travel until Wes passed away in 1999 at the age of 86.
Marjorie was an avid Bridge Player for many decades, loved to travel, and most of all attend the Sidney, Iowa PRCA Rodeo each year, having box seats.
She met Don Bimes and basically “adopted” him as her son. Their friendship blossomed and eventually Don became Marjorie’s trusted confidant, living in her home until her brief illness. Robert and Linda Gebhardt were also special caring friends to Marjorie over the years.
Marjorie passed away on September 27, 2023, at the Josie Harper Hospice House in Omaha, NE, at the age of 101 years and 8 months.
Visitation: Monday, October 2, 2023, 9- 11 a.m., West Center Chapel, 7805 W. Center Rd., followed by a Funeral Service: at 11 a.m. Private Interment.
Memorials are suggested to a Donor’s choice.
