Mark E. Halula

Mark E. Halula
July 29, 1953 – September 27, 2022

On Saturday, September 27, 2022 Mark E. Halula passed away at the age of 69 after a prolonged illness. Mark was born on July 29, 1953, in Kansas City, Kansas, to Paul and Rose Marie (DeMasters) Halula. He graduated from Burke High School in Omaha and attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha.

Mark was preceded in death by his wife, Deborah Senentz; parents, Paul and Rose Marie (DeMasters) Halula; brother, William “Bill” Halula.

He is survived by his brothers: Stephen (Steve) Halula and Michael Halula; sister, Lynne (Halula) Lippold; and their families.

Mark was an avid reader (pretty much everything), florist, lover of his dogs, cats and horses. He was truly a Renaissance man having (until recently) been a computer guru and even in the distant past a concrete form-setter! He had a big heart and was always ready to help someone in need—and with a smile. Mark was the Halula embodiment of MacGyer’s ingenuity and Robin Williams’ wit.

In lieu of flowers, please remember Mark’s favorite charity, Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Utah. (bestfriends.org).

A Memorial Service will be held at the Envisions building, 619 Olson Dr. Papillion 68046, located on the access road south of Hwy 370 and between 72nd and 84th on November 13th at 10:00 am.

I was just thinking of Mark. So sorry for your loss. We went to Burke.

To Halula family, I knew Mark when he had the David’s Florist shop many, many years ago when our office would go to him for our annual Christmas Poinsettia’s as thank you gifts. He then became my go to florist, and then my sister, when she was married. He always took so much care overseeing the out-going flowers. Plus he was very approachable and willing to make up any grouping of flowers. I am so sad to hear of his passing. My sincere and heartfelt sympathy to you all.

So many years ago, I worked with Mark at the Penny’s store. He was a great friend. He will seem forever young to me

Mark was a close friend. His generosity and loving heart will be missed. Memories of slumber parties, trips to the zoo and swimming/four wheeling with my children are forever in their hearts. The joy of being able to help at his flower shop and the many different meals we tried will always make me smile. Marlee thank you for being there for him. He loved you and the work he was doing. My condolences to his family well. RIP Mark!
