Marlene was one of the most influential teachers I’ve had. Much of my subsequent academic and professional success can be traced directly back to my class with her at Omaha Central. I’m lucky to have had Marlene in my life.

Marlene was a positive influence in many students lives at Central High. I had her for English my first year at Central and she was so kind and welcoming. Made me feel part of the Central High Vibe right away. God Bless her. Class of 78.

Mrs. Bernstein taught me and so many others how to write and write well, which seems to be a lost art. My professional. Practice of radiology has a flair in reporting style that harkens back to the critical writing child’s that Marlene taught me. She was absolutely the most important teacher of mine at Central. She took me under her wing after I had transferred from Creighton Prep and incorporated me into the academic decathlon teams of the era that were populated by some of the smartest of Omaha high schools in the late 1980s. God bless her trip as astra!

Mrs. Bernstein was a wonderful neighbor. I have so many memories, like boating on Carter Lake, fending off the giant Shepherds, & yodeling like a Tarzan for my BFF Larry to cut through the yard to come over to see me. She had a cool motor cycle, & was always very supportive (even when the FBI showed up…) Wonderful Mom, Grandmother, Teacher & friend, her memory is for blessings. Condolences to the family.
