CHANGE OF SERVICE TIME OLSON-Marlowe Bayne “Ole”, age 88, born April 14, 1920 in a farmhouse in Gross, NE, where he attended a one-room schoolhouse. He graduated from Bristow High School in 1938. During WWII he served as a navigator in the U.S. Army Air Corps and was held as a German POW for over a year. After the war ended, he earned his bachelor and law degrees from UNL. His long career as a tax accountant included 35 years with Peat, Marwick & Mitchell CPA’s. He was a past president of Omaha Camp Fire Girls and Sertoma Club, a service club he belonged to for 53 years. He was a member of Augustana Lutheran Church for 50 years. He was preceded in death by parents, Ernest and Hildred Olson. Survived by wife of 60 years, Betty Ann; daughters and sons-in-law, Melissa and Tom Prohaska, of Omaha, Marla and Glenn Okner, of Woodbury, MN, Melora and Tony Kalina, of Winfield, IL; 4 grandchildren, Stephanie Prohaska, Michael and Matthew Okner, and Andrew Kalina; sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Gene Haugse of Waukesha, WI; many nieces and nephews. FUNERAL SERVICES 10:30am Wednesday at Augustana Lutheran Church, 3647 Lafayette Ave., 68131. Interment Hillcrest-Westlawn Cemetery with full military honors by Millard American Legion Post 374 & VFW Post 8334. VISITATION Tuesday 5-7pm at the Mortuary.
