Martha Ann Robey

Age 74.  Ann Robey of Omaha passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her family. She was preceded in death by her husband Douglas A. Robey M.D.; her daughter, Susan Marie; her parents, John and Teresa Grahek and stepfather, Theodore Grahek; brothers: Bernard, John, and Joseph Grahek. She is survived by her children: Jennifer Robey (Stephen Hegarty), Doug Robey (Beth), Stephen Robey (Keri Sitzmann-Robey), David Robey, and Timothy Robey (Annie Moriarty); her siblings: Ray Grahek, Rosemary Thomas, Pat Grahek, Michael Grahek, Elizabeth Grahek and Margaret Grahek; and 11 grandchildren.

Ann was born in El-Paso, Texas and raised on the Iron Range of Minnesota in the town of Gilbert. She earned her nursing degree from Creighton University in 1965. She worked many years as a nurse at Bergan Mercy Hospital.  She was married to Douglas Robey and raised five wonderful children.

Ann was active in the churches of Christ the King, St. Leo’s, and most recently, St. Vincent DePaul where she attended daily Mass. She has many groups of friends: the Rosary ladies, the golf league, breakfast club, and Bible study.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Dec. 19th from 5pm to 7pm at the West Center Chapel, followed by VIGIL SERVICE at 7pm.  VISITATION on Wednesday, Dec. 20th from 9am to 10am at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 14330 Eagle Run Dr., followed by MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL at 10am.  Entombment, Calvary Mausoleum.  Memorials may be offered to Emergency Pregnancy Services, Catholic Charities, or Siena/Francis House.

    I will miss you Aunt Ann. It was always nice to see you and visit with you when you were home for the 4th. I send my love to my family.

    She was a wonderful neighbor, a stellar addition to the breakfast group, and she had a great sense of humor. She will be missed.
