VISITATION: Tuesday, August 8th from 5pm to 7pm at the West Center Chapel, followed by VIGIL SERVICE at 7pm. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: Wednesday, August 9th at 10am, Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 5912 S. 36th St. Interment, Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials will be directed by the family.

Mary Ann (McEvoy) Gruttemeyer passed away peacefully on Friday, August 4, 2023 at the age of 89. She was preceded in death by her husband, A. T. “Tom” Gruttemeyer; grandson, Sam Kelley; and brothers: Bob, Jack, Jim, Bill, and Tom McEvoy.
She is survived by her children: Tom Gruttemeyer, Gail (Mike) McNeeley, John (Lori) Gruttemeyer, Steve (Molly) Gruttemeyer, Mary (Kevin) Calabro, and Jenny (Shane) McLaughlin; grandchildren: Sara (Shane) Minardi, Megan (Rob) Cupps, Shannon (Alan) Ellis, Joe Gruttemeyer, Lally (Kyle) Strayer, Madi Gruttemeyer, Hannah Gruttemeyer, Caleb Kelley, Luke McLaughlin and fiancée, Ashlee Denny, Molly (Tony) Cavalieri, and Logan McLaughlin; 9 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law; many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Mary loved her family dearly and her greatest joy was attending family gatherings, sharing laughs, hugs, and maybe a shot of Jameson or Baileys. She loved Irish music and she had the best smile.
Mom, Grandma, GG, you will be greatly missed and we are so happy to have so many great memories with you.

We’re sending prayers for everyone during this difficult time. Mary Ann was a fun lady. I can still see her playing cards, at our house, and laughing at my Dad’s jokes. As the night wore on, they would sing some classic Irish songs, too.
Mary Ann is most assuredly reunited with family on the other side. It helps to think of them all enjoying cards again, and raising a toast together!
I’ll miss you forever grandma. You were one of a few people who could actually make sense of the world to me . I wish we were notified for the funeral . It was severely unfair to short me of my goodbye , but grandma I love you
