Mary Ann Miller

April 20, 1939 – April 30, 2025

Mary A. Miller, age 86, of Omaha, Nebraska, passed away on Wednesday, April 30, 2025. She was born in Dubuque, Iowa, to Adella and Michael Remakel, and was one of seven children. She graduated from The Visitation, an all-girls Catholic High School, and worked for a period thereafter at John Deere Dubuque Tractor Works. She married her husband, Wayne R. Miller in 1960, and they relocated to Omaha in 1964, where they established roots and raised 6 children.  Mary was a homemaker and devoted mother and grandmother. She had sixteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren who have fond memories of their time together. She had an everlasting love for her family, demonstrated through her generous spirit and kindness to all who encountered her. Mary also loved gardening, collecting stamps, and making delicious chokecherry jelly from fruits grown on her farm in Verdigre, Nebraska. The warmth Mary brought into the lives of others will be both dearly cherished and greatly missed.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers: Bob, Vince, and Ronnie; sister, Patty. She is survived by her children: Chris (Brenda) Miller, Heidi (Bill) Vescio, Amy (Mike) Smolsky, Matt Miller, Connie Rivera, and Mike (Becki) Miller; sixteen grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, Tom; sister Sue; many nieces and nephews.

MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: Tuesday, May 13, 2025, 10:30am at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, 15353 Pacific Street, Omaha, with VISITATION Monday, May 12, 2025, from 5:30pm to 7:30pm with Catholic Rosary at 7:30pm at Heafey-Hoffmann-Dworak-Cutler, West Center Chapel, 7805 West Center Road, Omaha.

INTERMENT: Resurrection Cemetery, Omaha.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association Nebraska Chapter – Modern Work Suites, 8790 F St., Suite 404, Omaha, NE 68127.

    Heidi and Connie – I’m so sorry to hear about your Mother’s passing. My condolences to each of your and your families. She was a wonderful sweet woman. Heaven gained a precious angel.
