BURKE-Mary E. “Liz”, age 61, of Bellevue, NE, November 9, 2008. Liz lived in Alaska, Germany, Florida, Washington, D.C., Colorado and Omaha as an Air Force wife for 28 years. In addition to her own children, she had many adopted sons and daughters while in the service. She remained very close to her two German boys who were exchange students at Bellevue East. Liz loved her family, her flower garden, traveling to Ireland and Germany. At Christmas time she would have an annual Christmas Party. She loved baking and entertaining. She was always willing to open her home to anyone. Survived by husband, Mike; daughters Aimee and husband, Jason Vander Pol, Louisville, KY, Amber Burke, Bellevue, Anchalee Willms, Omaha; mother, Agnes Ellis, Mobile, AL; sisters, Bobbie and husband Keith Power, Houston, TX, Lulu and husband, Ronnie Scott, Mobile, AL; 6 grandchildren, Addison and Brianna Gorenc, Tristian Murray; Maura and Ellie Vander Pol, Caban Willms; brothers-in-law and sisters-in- law, Pat and Tina Burke, Browns Summit, NC, Dick and Karin Burke, Oxford, CT; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Peg (John) Magness, Southbury, CT; special friend, Tim Bernet beloved pets, Ginger and Maddie.
