Preceded in death by husband, Clarence H. O’Brien. Survived by children: Michael O’Brien (Karen), Susan O’Brien, Barbara Bottrell, and Mary Dee Lorenzo; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
VISITATION: Wednesday, March 7th from 9am to 10am at Mary Our Queen Catholic Church, 3405 S. 118th St., followed by MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL at 10am. GRAVESIDE SERVICE: Wednesday, 2pm at Riverside Cemetery in Crete, NE. Memorials are suggested to St. Croix Hospice or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Mary Eleanor “Billye” (Rhorer) O’Brien was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana on March 15, 1926. She was the only child of Alma Ruby Thompson and Samuel William “Bill” Rhorer. Her dad, Bill, died in a car accident when she was 12 years old. She was raised by her mother with the loving help of her Grandpa and Grandma Thompson, and seven Thompson aunts. After high school graduation, she worked as a secretary at an Air Force base near Lake Charles. It was there she met Clarence Henry “Kit” O’Brien. They were married on August 12, 1945. Following World War II, the couple moved to Crete, Nebraska, where they raised four children, Mike, Susan, Barb and Mary Dee. Kit passed away on June 15, 1983.
Billye is survived by her children: son, Michael (Karen) O’Brien and their children, Jim (Kim) O’Brien, Bob (Lindsey) O’Brien, Kate O’Brien; Jim and Kim have two sons, Graham and Rhett, Bob and Lindsey have one son, Charlie; daughter, Susan O’Brien; daughter, Barbara Bottrell and children: Jennie Bottrell, Stephanie (Ian) Schmidt, Angie Bottrell, Stephanie and Ian have two children, daughter, Addie and son, Isaac; daughter, Mary Dee Lorenzo and sons, Nick Lorenzo and Brandon Lorenzo.
