March 29, 1948 – November 18, 2023

Mary Elizabeth Knoblauch Czech, known to many as Mary Beth, passed away on November 18, 2023, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Born in Omaha, Nebraska, Mary Beth was the second child of Philomena and Clyde Knoblauch.

Mary Beth attended the University of Nebraska, where she earned a bachelor’s degree. She then attended the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, where she earned a master’s degree in education. After earning her degree, she moved to Laurinburg, North Carolina, where she welcomed a son, Erin. After a few years in North Carolina, they moved back to Omaha, where they enjoyed living among their extended family.

In 1986, Mary Beth married Frank Czech and relocated to Las Vegas. A lifelong teacher, Mary Beth worked for the Clark County School District for over 30 years. She was devoted to her career and particularly focused on children with special educational needs.

My son, Cooper, adored Mrs. Czech! She was incredibly supportive of him, his education and supported our family in our efforts for inclusion for Cooper. He is an amazing teenager now, and her support years ago helped shape his success! We already missed you, and now we miss you even more. You were AMAZING to Cooper and I will be forever and eternally grateful.

My condolences to Mary Beth’s family! Mary Beth was one of my mentor teachers when I started teaching in 2009. Then I had the chance to teach with her at Ries Elementary School in Las Vegas and she was the best co-worker one could ask for. She always had my back and had so much wisdom and love to share. She often talked about her son and grandkids who brought her so much joy.

We would often talk about football, mainly the 49ers and the Nebraska Cornhuskers. She was a really great friend. I will miss Mary Beth very much!
