Kathleen was born in Madison, SD and grew up in Worthington, MN during the Great Depression.  She graduated from nursing school at St. Catherine College and St. Joseph Hospital in St. Paul, MN, then returned to Worthington to work as a surgical nurse.

Tom’s work with Northern Natural Gas Company required many moves between Minnesota, Iowa, and Nebraska.  Kathleen continued working as an R.N. through all the moves and caring for five children.  She provided care in hospitals, nursing homes, and with the Red Cross.  She was always a strong advocate for her patients.  She retired from the Red Cross in 1986.

Kathleen was very loving and caring of her husband and children.  Her family and relatives were precious to her as were all the wonderful memories she had of the times spent together.

Kathleen’s family wishes to express their deepest thanks and appreciation for the care and compassion given to her by Suncrest Hospice Care, especially Angel (RN), Claire (CNA), Maddie (RN), and Pattie (Social Worker).  Kathleen passed away peacefully in her own home with her family at her side.
