Mary Lee Skaff

SKAFF, Mary Lee, Aug 28, 1932 – Apr 9, 2010 Graduated from Cathedral High School in Sioux Falls, SD in 1949; graduated from Rosary College in Chicago, Ill. She taught high school in Chicago prior to joining the religious order of Dominican nuns and continued with her teaching career in Chicago for several years. After leaving the convent, Mary Lee obtained her Masters Degree at Marquette, then pursued a career in law and earned her degree from University of Wisconsin-Madison. She lived and practiced in Hartford, CT, Milwaukee, WI and, for the past 25 years, in Omaha, NE. She was a member of Holy Family Church in Omaha. She was a truly compassionate human being, loved by so very many for her humor, generosity and understanding. She was most greatly appreciated for her extensive “pro bono” work. She will be missed dearly by the many whose lives she touched. Preceded in death by parents, Lora (Clark) and Harry P. Skaff; brother, Gregory P. Skaff. Survived by sister Gail (Skaff) Vonalt and brother-in-law Timothy; nieces, Leta Tasch and Lori Jasper; nephews Mark Skaff, Tadd Skaff, Christian Vonalt and Jakob Vonalt; many other beloved relatives and their respective families. A MASS in her memory will be held FRIDAY, 2pm, at Holy Family Church, 1715 Izard St., Omaha, with lunch following at the church. Memorials are suggested to Holy Family Church.
