Mary Louisa Kelly (Nocita), aged 85, originally from Omaha, Nebraska, died peacefully at the home of her daughter Lynnette Kelly in Washington DC on May 3, 2018. Mary was born on April 30, 1933 in Missouri Valley, Iowa, the daughter of Rosario (Joe) and Carmella Nocita. She is beloved by her children and grandchildren, Fred and Joyce Kelly and their children Patrick and Mary Kate Kelly of Omaha, Nebraska, Lynnette Kelly and her son Matthew Kelly-Montresor of Washington DC, Denise and Dale Kirk and their children Keegan and Kyler Kirk of Waterford, Michigan, and her son Patrick Kelly of Omaha, Nebraska. She is also survived by her sister Fena Ricerri of Sacramento, California and sister and brother-in-law Frances and Ernie Cap of Chesapeake, Virginia. She is predeceased by her husband Fred R. Kelly Jr. of Omaha, Nebraska and brother Sam Nocita of Nebraska City, Nebraska.

Mary was a devoted friend to all and a second mother to many. She always put others needs before her own and was loved by all who knew her. Mary loved spending time with her nieces and nephews, and later with her grandchildren. Mary loved animals of all kinds.

Mary lived in Missouri Valley, Iowa as a child and attended St. Patrick’s Elementary School in Missouri Valley, Iowa and St. John’s High School in Omaha, Nebraska. She married Fred R. Kelly Jr. on February 14, 1956 and they were married for 54 years. She was a member of St. Frances Cabrini and St. Joan of Arc parishes in Omaha, Nebraska, and Epiphany Catholic Church in Washington DC.

WAKE SERVICE: Thursday, May 31st at 6pm at the West Center Chapel, 7805 W. Center Rd. in Omaha, with family receiving friends from 5pm to 6pm.  Interment: Calvary Cemetery.  Memorial contributions are welcome at St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, 1248 So. 10th Street, and The Nebraska Humane Society, 8929 Fort Street, both in Omaha.

    Mary was such a kind and lovely person and although we didn’t get to see her often enough;we enjoyed her company and visiting with her,Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
