Mary Theresa Horgan
June 25, 1991-June 25, 2023
It is with profound sadness that we mourn the sudden loss of Mary “Mae” Theresa Horgan, who died at the tender age of 32 on June 25th, 2023. Born on June 25th, 1991, in the vibrant city of New York, New York, Mae was a beacon of light and an embodiment of kindness, intelligence, and compassion. Her departure has left an indescribable void in our lives.
Mae’s journey was marked by remarkable achievements and an unwavering commitment to her loved ones. She graduated from the prestigious Duchesne Academy of the Sacred Heart in 2009, followed by her successful completion of studies at Fordham University in 2013. Her thirst for knowledge was matched only by her humility and enduring love for her family.
A dedicated daughter, sister, and aunt, Mae’s love for others knew no bounds. She cherished her Irish heritage and embraced her role as a beloved daughter of Catherine Mandl and John Horgan; adored sister of John (Melissa) Horgan, Thomas (Mary) Horgan, Nell Horgan, and Joseph Horgan; cherished cousin of Constance Collins and Thomas Storm, who were like brother and sister to Mae; adored aunt to Declan, Henry, John Daniel (JD), and Quinn Horgan; and beloved niece to Steve and Anne Raynor, Jean and Richard Storm, Claire and Dennis Kirlan, James and Michelle Horgan, and Mary (Carol) and Terry Petsche. Her warm heart and genuine love also extended to her numerous cousins, who held a special place in her heart.
Mae’s presence was like a ray of sunshine, filling every room with warmth and laughter. Her infectious spirit and contagious smile touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. With a passion for art, she reveled in the beauty of creativity and found solace in visiting art galleries, where her artistic talents shone brightly.
Above all, Mae placed her family at the center of her world. A profound bond connected her and her mother, Catherine, who dedicated herself to Mae’s well-being and mental health, offering unconditional support and love throughout Mae’s life. Time spent with her niece and nephews was cherished, as Mae treasured every moment creating lasting memories with them.
Though Mae’s time with us was far too short, her impact was immense. She touched the lives of those around her, leaving an indelible mark of love and kindness. The void left by Mae’s passing is immeasurable, but solace can be taken knowing that her spirit of love and compassion will forever guide us.
Family and friends are invited to visit at Saint Patrick’s Catholic Church (20500 W Maple Road, Omaha, NE) on Thursday, June 29, 2023 from 5-7PM with a vigil following.
