NAHAS, Mary, Mar 7, 1917 – Jul 2, 2009, of Omaha. Mary was born and lived most of her life in Omaha, with George Nahas, her loving husband of nearly 70 years, and their family. She served her church and community well. She helped found the Madonna School Women’s Council, and nurtured the school’s growth over the years. She cooked and painted and gardened with joy, and showered family and friends with kindness, generosity and love. Mary was preceded in death by parents, Anastase and Assad Nussrallah; brothers, George and James Nussrallah; daughters, Marianne, Elizabeth and Nancy Nahas. She is survived by husband George; daughters, Rebecca (James) Abbott and Margaret (Griffith) Evans, all of Omaha; grandchildren, Miranda (Mark) Burt, Elizabeth, Nicholas, Anna, Mary and Nathaniel Evans, and great grandchildren, Michael and Elena Burt. VIGIL SERVICE Wednesday, July 8, 11am at Christ the King Catholic Church, with MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL at 1:30pm. Interment at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to Madonna School.
