Mary Rose (Francis) Taylor

TAYLOR, Mary Rose (Francis) Jul 11, 1919 – Dec 9, 2013 Born in Omaha, Nebraska, Mary was the youngest of seven children born to Sam A. and Mary R. Francis. She was a student at Lincoln elementary and graduated from Central High School in 1937. Mary attended St. Savior Catholic Church and later became a member of St. Joan of Arc Parish. She was a member of many organizations including the Ak-Sar-Ben Chapter of National Secretaries and American Legion Auxiliary Post 347. She was a lifetime member of the D.A.V. and was instrumental in establishing the La Societe de Femmes of “40 et 8” Voiture 206 in 1976. For many years Mary was employed as a secretary for Union Pacific Railroad, St. Joseph Hospital, and Brandeis Store and eventually retired as a sales associate for Brandeis. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; sisters and brothers; husband, Ralph D. Taylor Sr.; and her sweetheart in later life, Robert Tjarks. She is survived by her son, Ralph Darrell Taylor Jr. of Cascade, Colorado; nieces and nephews; dear friends, Susan Smisek and Merle Rambo; many other dear friends and neighbors. The family will receive friends Friday, December 13th from 4pm to 6pm at the West Center Chapel. La Societe de Femmes Memorial Service Friday, 6pm followed by VIGIL SERVICE and Rosary, all at the West Center Chapel. VISITATION Saturday, December 14th at 9:30am at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church followed by MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL at 10:30am. Interment, Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Joan of Arc Parish, St. Jude Hospice, or Central High School.
