MASON, Charlene R. “Char”

Charlene R. “Char” Mason July 17, 2016 Charlene “Char” Mason was born and raised in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Char moved to Omaha where she raised her three children. Char loved to camp and travel with her mother, Lorraine. The “traveling grandmas” drove thousands of miles across the country, visiting friends and having adventures. She was an animal lover who had a menagerie of cats, dogs, rats, guinea pigs, birds, and many more throughout the years. Char worked various jobs and retired from Campbell’s Soup, but she most enjoyed her unpaid “jobs”: dog-sitting for friends, delivering dinner and cookies, helping run errands, and just generally taking care of people. She was a cancer survivor who lived every day to the fullest, never taking the time she had on this earth for granted. Her kindness, caring and generosity will be remembered by everyone who knew her. She will be greatly missed by her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Lorraine Stapleton; brother, Rob; sister, Joan. She is survived by her three children: Kelly Collins (Rachelle), Jennifer Goodman (Scott Goodman, M.D.), and Chris Mason; two grandchildren, Hannah and Shelby Goodman. XOXO MEMORIAL SERVICE for Charlene and her mother, Lorraine Stapleton, will be held on Wednesday, July 20th at 7pm at the Bel Air Chapel.
