Matthew “Matt” Christian Lamb was a loving husband and devoted father, grandfather, brother and friend. Matt passed away on August 19, 2024, at the age of 70 in Omaha, Nebraska. Matt was born to Jack and Virginia Lamb on September 9, 1955, in Detroit, Michigan. He met his wife,Debra Lamb and they were married in 1981, and shortly after relocated to Omaha, Nebraska, where they had two children; Joshua and Jessy.
For more than 30 years, Matt was a respected manufacturing engineer and designer in Omaha–first for the Pacesetter Corporation, and then for Phillips Manufacturing. Over the years he designed many different variations of windows, patio rooms, and garage doors that adorn homes everywhere.
Always the avid outdoorsman, Matt was found most autumn weekends in the open fields of Nebraska, often preferring to listen to Husker games from the truck radio while hunting pheasant. He was incredible with his hands, able to fix anything or complete any task regardless of the complexity. His family often stated that they could count on one hand the number of times a professional had to be called to complete anything around the house. It was also said that he was most content while working on vehicles. Matt was a loyal and devoted member of his church and the community. For years he held leadership positions with Divine Shepherd Lutheran Church, and in later years, was in attendance most Sundays at Grace Hill Lutheran Church in Elkhorn. Matt’s faith was the bedrock of his life.
Matt was preceded in death by his wife, Deb; his brother Adam; his parents, Jack and Virginia; and his many faithful dogs. He is survived by his two children, Josh and Jessy; as well as many other brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. He will truly be missed by all.
