“Matt was the most adorable baby, rambunctious child, and the coolest adult. He made an impression on everyone he met and you were blessed to call him a friend.

Make no mistake, Matt lived a very full life. A life full of love, laughs, travel, and Rock-n-Roll! Matt had many vacations that took him to Washington D. C., Las Vegas, Florida, S. Dakota, New Orleans, and Hawaii just for starters. He enjoyed numerous road trips to visit family, and his daily drives around town with his friends were a staple!

Matt was not complicated, he knew what he wanted and he was masterful at finding ways to get it! Mt. Dew, Subway, CD’s, DVD’s, chips, cheese sticks, and hot dogs. He knew the value of “a dollar”, especially if it came from someone else’s pocket!!

Matt loved sports. He was a huge KC Chiefs and KC Royals fan. He participated in Special Olympics for years earning numerous trophies in, ribbons, and medals. He won State Championships in Shuffleboard, Dead Lift, Floor Hockey, Bowling, and Softball Throw. But nothing came close to the Pee-Wee football team he played on with his brother Bernie!

It was Family and Friends that meant the most to Matt. Matt was the thread that kept our family connected. He never met a stranger and he loved to talk with everyone. In 2019 Matt moved to a supported house where the staff truly became a second family to him, and to us. Through the love and support of these dedicated angels Matt made the Best Friends of his life. God is good.”

Matt, thank you for allowing me the pleasure of being able to take care of you for almost 2 years. We always had a good time. Every day we went for our drives around town seeing what kind of shenanigans we could get into. We always jammed out to classic rock and many times ended up going to get a Mt. Dew before going home. I am so glad that I got this opportunity and I just want to say that I learned alot from you. I learned about patience and compassion, and most of all about friendship. We will all miss you. Especially your smile and you waiting to scare us. My condolences to your family and all of your friends. We love you Matt. Have an amazing time rocking out in Heaven.

I first ‘Met’ you on a skype call, when I was talking to Tracy. You were all smiles and jokes. You told Tracy to ask if I had a boyfriend and I said “Tell him I guess I do now” You smiled so big. That happiness was contagious. Any time I talked to Tracy, I got to talk to you too. It was a blessing to have all that positive, happy energy directed my way. I remember hearing you moved to Wisconsin and the family moved too. We talked about maybe getting to meet you when I was there for a visit….but Covid prevented that. I will Always carry that happy infectious smile in my heart. I will talk to Tracy about you often, so you live on in memories, teachings, and all the joys you taught us. Rest well. I am so honored to call you my Friend.

Uncle Matt was such a wonderful person. I truly enjoyed having him in our life more when he started living with us. He always cracked jokes, gave his sister Paula a hard time and went to movies with us (not sit with us though, no he HAD to sit in the front with or without you). I will miss him and the joy he brought to everyone he interacted with.
