To Matt’s family and friends, I’m so heartbroken to learn of your loss. I attended elementary school with Matt and remember him so fondly. Later, in our 20’s, I ran into Matt several times with mutual friends and he was always so friendly and happy to meet an old friend. I haven’t stopped thinking about this since I learned of his passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you as you grieve your profound loss. Cobras Forever.

I am so terribly sorry for your loss! I loved Matt, he was a similar age to my sons and we would have lengthy conversations at the nursery. He was always ready with a hug and a kind word and of course lots of puppy cuddles for my dog Nugget. They loved each other! Please know that I am holding you all and his memory very gently in my heart at this time. May he rest in peace.
    Sincerely,. Karen

My heart is breaking for all of you. Matt was such a kind soul. He had a huge heart and gave the best hugs. He called me Aunt Lisa and that is such a great memory for me. I also remember the boys wearing boots and playing in the creek at Cedsr Rapids. Such great memories there too. Love and miss you Matt

I met Matt in 2016 and we briefly dated while he was in between relationships. I saw this on facebook and felt I had to write how sad this feels. He was nice and bubbly and I’m sorry for his family’s loss. He talked about how much he loved soccer and he loved being around others.

Sending so much love and comfort to all who knew and loved Matt. I have many fond memories of his laughter, smile, and the time we spent together in grade school, middle school, and highschool. He was my first boyfriend and I know he impacted many lives with his charm. Rest in peace, friend.

My heart breaks for Matt and his family. He was such a good friend and one of the first to befriend the new girl in 4th grade. Although we grew apart I am truly saddened by this. Rest in peace Matt, you will most certainly be missed!
