    The Broken Chain …

We little knew that day that God was going to call your name,
In life we loved you dearly, in death we do the same.

It broke our hearts to lose you, as you did not go alone,
For part of us went with you, that day God called you home.

You left us peaceful memories, your love is still our guide,
And though we cannot see you, your always at our side.

Our family chain is broken and nothing seems the same,
But as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again.

May the love of family and friends carry you through your sorrow!

    With Deepest sympathies,

    Debra Handrick Ehresman

Dear David, Tommy, Eddie & Valerie – That’s how I remember you all as. Just learned today from Aunt Darlene of your dad’s passing. On behalf of the Shields family, I send condolences. So many happy memories of growing up with you all. Your dad was always a sweet gentle presence, except when Bandit was on the loose or if you boys were outside after the street lights came on. He never yelled at Valerie. Hugs to you all and may your tears eventually be replaced with happy memories.
