_________________________________________________________

Michael was born at Camp Pendleton Naval Hospital in Oceanside, CA. He spent his early years in Corona, California, until moving with his family to Omaha, Nebraska. He attended and graduated from Bryan High School, where he was an active participant in ROTC and began his lifelong passion for computers and all things technological. He enjoyed finding all the latest gadgets. He had a thirst for knowledge.  Even learning German, and encouraging his brother to do the same, so that they could have conversations behind their mother’s back.😉 Whether reading, sharing, teaching or practicing the things he was interested in, it fed his soul.

After High School Mike became a Freemason and then a Shriner, following in his father and grandfather’s footsteps. In 2005, Mike met his “Beautiful Darling,” Ashley. They tied the knot on December 9, 2006, and their children, Mike Jr. and Teddy, completed their family. He was a devoted husband and father, putting his family’s needs before his own.

Many people found Michael helpful, kind and intelligent, but his greatest Legacy was his family.

Mike took the Extra Amauteur class at Bellevue Amateur Radio Club and shared this interest in ham radio with Michael Jr and Teddy. He relished outdoor activities and enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting, archery, trap shooting, hiking and Dutch oven cooking with his “Buds” through Boy Scouts as a Cub Master, Range Officer, Den Leader and Assistant Troop Leader. This past year he was working with them to move on to Eagle Scouts.

His faith brought him joy and comfort as a member of Greenwood Christian Church, where  he was baptized this past year, and enjoying Christian songs, as well as classic country music.

Having found a “Home” at MMC Contractors, and  the Steamfitters and Plumbers Local Union 464, he excelled at his craft. This led him to becoming an instructor there, where he mentored many of his students.

This year Mike renewed his enthusiasm for Freemasonry and fulfilled his goal of becoming a member of the Scottish Rite.

He is survived by Wife, Ashley; Sons, Michael and Teddy; Mother, Susan Risney; and Brother, James Risney; and many other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by Father, Teddy E. Risney; Grandparents, Theola M. and Samuel B. Kirkland; Uncle, Thomas Rogers; Brothers, Samuel A. Risney and Daniel E. Risney; Niece, Rachel Risney.

We extend our appreciation for the prayers, support, donations, assistance and love shown by all.
