Michael Christopher Peterson
March 2, 1971-October 19, 2024
Michael Christopher Peterson, loving husband and father of three children, passed away Oct. 19, 2024. He is survived by his wife Lori, and their children, Evan, Jordyn, and Kylin; parents Michael and Jan; and sister Natalie (Mike) as well as many nieces and nephews. Mike was a man who wore his heart on his sleeve, felt every emotion deeply, and never said goodbye to someone he loved without a kiss on the cheek. There was never a favor, a project, or a task that he would refuse. He was always the person who, without needing to be asked, was there to help a neighbor, a friend, a family member, or support anyone in need.
Mike had a drive that wouldn’t quit. If there was a problem, he went to limitless ends to address it. He was our father and fixer-upper, teacher, mentor, and chef, but Mike was also encouraging, protective, nurturing, fun-loving, vulnerable, and wise — everything we needed him to be. The reason for this, as he said recently, “I’ve always been able to eventually figure stuff out.”
It was that drive that gave him the determination and fortitude to build the beautiful home where he would raise his kids. His children are, and will continue to be, his world. Each of them knew Mike was always a phone call away, whether they needed advice, guidance or if they just wanted to talk with their dad.
Mike’s insatiable love for sweets was no secret. From his mother’s mint green frosting to frozen cookie dough (before Lori had time to bake), nothing sweet was ever safe around Mike.
We will take these moments now and forever to celebrate Mike for his never wavering commitment to his family and friends. This loss will be forever felt by us all, but we know that he is at peace watching over us every moment, just as he always has.
‘Till we meet again, husband, father, son, brother, and friend.”
FUNERAL SERVICE: Thursday, October 24, 2024, 6:00PM at West Center Chapel, 7805 West Center Road, Omaha with VISITATION from 4:00-6:00PM
Memorials will be directed by the family.

To The Family,
Please Accept My Heartfelt Condolences. Truly the loss of a precious loved one is most difficult. Please find comfort in the promise our most loving Heavenly Father Jehovah God gives us in Revelation 21:4″And He will wipe out every tear from their eyes and death will be no more; neither will mourning; nor outcry; nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” Yes, We can look forward to a time soon to come when all suffering including death will be done away with forever. I remember one day when Mike picked Jordyn and I up from the airport. He was wearing a bright yellow bandana as a headband, and asking about our trip. He bopped his head along to the radio while Jordyn sung along. That’s how I remember him. I am so sorry for your loss: Jordyn, Lori and family.
Dear Peterson family. We were so sorry to hear about the death of Mike. We remember him mostly from his grade school and high school days and his travels around the neighborhood back in the day. Mike was always seeking adventure with his buds and usually finding it. Mike was always respectful and a clean cut kid. Mike will surely be missed by all who knew him. We’ll remember you in our prayers to help you through this difficult time. May God bless

Lori I am so sorry for your and the families loss. What a beautiful memorial to Mike. Prayers to all of you.
The best word to describe Mike and the wonderful family he built is caring. We are blessed to remember that all of his best qualities remain in the Peterson family and he will never be forgotten. I pray for peace over the Peterson family and I am confident that you now have the best guardian angel from here on out. Sending love to you all and I am so sorry for your loss
